Alice is a single mother of two adult children and one elementary school-age daughter. In the past, she struggled with addiction and mental health issues. Since her participation with the Women’s Resource Society, and having stable, safe, and supportive housing, her healing has been steady. The Mission’s Kitchens gave her new knowledge and skills that she has embraced.
"I had no idea that cooking from scratch, using such affordable ingredients, was possible and fun. It has made a difference in how far my food budget can go each month, and it’s something I now do with my daughter who loves to cook with Mommy. I’m always sharing what I learned with anyone who will listen. I think everyone should have these skills.”
