What is United Way of the Fraser Valley?
We are celebrating our 26th year of supporting a network of agencies and programs that are making a difference in our communities. Through individual, employee and corporate giving, United Way empowers Fraser Valley citizens to contribute to lasting, positive change. By working together, there is no challenge we cannot overcome.
How does United Way work?
The annual volunteer-driven workplace campaign raises funds that are invested back into our communities. Through more than 30 member agencies and other programs, United Way is at work in every corner of the Fraser Valley, creating opportunities for a better life for everyone.
What area does United Way of the Fraser Valley serve?
Aldergrove, Abbotsford, Mission, Chilliwack, Kent, Harrison, Hope and Yale to Boston Bar.
Are all United Ways connected?
United Way is an international organization that has its roots in Canada back to 1939. Currently, there are 115 independent United Ways, with 13 in BC. Each United Way operates locally, governed by a volunteer Board of Directors made up of members of the community they serve.
Why is United Way needed?
The needs of our community continue to exceed the resources available. As funding for local agencies and programs cease during challenging financial times, the number of requests for support continues to increase. Without United Way’s assistance, some vital organizations would simply not survive.

Through the United Way, your gift will be distributed within your community to the people who need it most. The United Way acts as your community investment counsellor, investing your donation to create lasting, positive change.

United Way of the Fraser Valley has low overhead with only three full-time, and one part-time, employee. Through the involvement of hundreds of volunteers, United Way is able to keep the fundraising cost to a minimum, providing funding to 27 essential social service member agencies and nine community impact programs.
